Problems with metal rollers
Corrosion
Many conveyor systems operate in hostile environments. This is especially true of belts in chemical and fertilizer plants where they carry highly corrosive material. This material causes severe corrosion on metal rollers requiring descaling and epoxy painting. Other polymer rollers in the market use a metal shaft that is still subject to corrosion and associated problems. Our rollers use an HPPE® shell and a composite (non-metal) shaft that virtually eliminate any chance of corrosion on the rollers. This helps lower maintenance and replacement costs of the conveyor system.
Knife Edge
Once seized or frozen, conventional metal rollers develop a sharp knife edge that can rip the belt easily leading to costly downtime due to repairs or replacement. Our rollers use an HPPE® shell that will develop only a rounded edge in case of roller seizure. This rounded edge does not cause any damage to the belt.
Material buildup
Material being transported on the belt often sticks to return rollers causing an uneven surface. This causes the belt to travel off center and result in further issues. HPPE® rollers have a surface roughness of 0.00022 which resists any material buildup and helps keep the belt on track.
Product Features
HPPE shell with molecular weight >3.5 million grams/mol extends roller life compared to commonly used HDPE rollers.
Low surface roughness of 0.00022 prevents material from sticking to the roller surface.
Non-metal shaft made from fiber glass and epoxy resin eliminates corrosion and lowers weight of the roller.
70% lighter than metal rollers which saves power during startup and also makes installation easier.
Key Applications
Corrosive environments – Fertilizer, Salt, Sugar, Pulp Paper
General Industry: Coal mining, Cement, Concrete, Limesone, Quarry
Our Other Products
Rotary Belt Cleaners
Rotary belt cleaners eliminate costly downtime by stopping wear on the belt caused by carryover material. We developed this vertical rotary brush for cement bagging plants. Please see the brush in action in our company introduction video on the “About Us” page.
Pulleys
We manufacture High Tension Conveyor Pulleys and perform Ceramic Tile Lagging that eliminates belt slippage in any condition.
Other
We also manufacture belt tracking systems, vulcanizing presses, belt winders and spillage control products.
